What a week!

I cannot actually believe everything that has happened this week. I don't think Iona can either!

Let's start with Trapped In Kansas. We have big plans in the pipeline and one of which is top secret. As we know by now we don't do things by halves so expect something somewhat out of the ordinary when it comes to these boys. I can say that we are just deciding on a logo for the boys, something just as a bit of identification! They have such diverse tastes but I am sure we can get there...someway....somehow. They have the Road To Rockness gig on Sunday which boasts an unbelievable line up and I have every faith as always that they will hold their own. Finn's hair may have overtaken the band by now, it is fucking HUGE. Actually I reckon he could house a family of birds quite easily so if you need a shelter for something living then please do drop us a line.

The Kays Lavelle have had a week of lows and euphoric highs. The low being that the album has leaked. At first we were all royally hacked off. Euan also blogged about it and I know that the main upset was the fact that it has not even been released yet. It is an incredible album. I know I can sit here and say that but hand on heart the recording, production, mixing, mastering and above all the song writing and playing have collectively produced something that is going to really cement them within the Scottish music network. I am not going to sit here and say that I have never downloaded something because of course I have BUT if I do download something then I will buy it! We have taken a positive from it as the boys have increased their listeners this week by staggering proportions and we have made the effort of contacting all the listeners to let them know about what is available and where to find the band. This in itself has made a huge difference and hopefully these people will stay with the band. Ten Times being released this week has had a great reception and personally The Japanese War Effort remix made me spaff a bit.

They have had an enormous amount of interest and a few things happening in the next few weeks that have made me squeal with joy and also burst with pride. I just cannot wait for the album launches on 7th and 8th of May because I really think they are going to be one of the highlights of my whole time with the band. They are going on a UK tour in October and it looks like we are going too!

I just have to say how proud and excited by all the bands we have on our roster. The most important piece of advice I would have as a manager is that you love your bands and their music completely. We adore all 3 and we listen to their music daily so we can quite easily say we are fans. The thing with this blog is that we also want to show that we want no barrier and we want to express exactly how we feel about them and show that they are as fun and human as the next person.

Finally, Esperi! A brilliant exposure piece was in The List this week by Chris Cope. Origami is now being streamed along with it and we were very chuffed! He is just planning some touring action for September but we will keep you posted! Chris is a funny fish! He got a blackberry and I think the novelty of a phone with a camera is overtaking his life (as people on his facebook may notice). The latest picture is below. Yes it is Chris with a stone seal. Ahhh the laughs Iona and I have....laughing that dreams are made of!

Until next time....

Halina x
